Team Tim Peake Primary Project - Whole School Science Morning - March 2016

The whole school celebrated the Tim Peake mission and the fact that they were part of the Tim Peake Primary Project  with a whole School Science Morning and parent sharing assembly.

Nursery and Reception children investigated the best protection for their egg parachutes and then launched these off the top of the rocket climbing frame out in the playground.

KS1 children  designed their own straw rockets before launching all of these in the school hall. They measured the distance that the rockets traveled.

LKS2 ( Willow Class) investiagted the best material to protect Tim Peake's eyes from the UV rays / for his sunglasses/googles. They used  UV reactive beads and covered them with different materials for their test.

Cedar Class worked with Mrs Flaherty from Chipping Campden School on the 'Space Case' booklet from the Tim Peake Project. They completed several activities in a carousal set-up.

Elm Class ( Year 6) investigated the depth of craters in different substances.
